When Midwestern Interactive came to me about needing portraits for their leaders, they knew they wanted something quite unique to represent their business culture. We dreamed up this non traditional set, built it and executed on about 20 portraits over 3 weeks.
Nancy came to use with 2 things, anxiety about a portrait session and the need of a new portrait! We had a meeting to discuss her worries and listen to her needs. On the day of the shoot the white table came to mind and it saved a couple important purposes. Firstly, that table creates a burier between her and the camera allowing for a feeling of safety. Secondly the table also adds in some visual interest, taking this portrait to the next level! In the end Nancy was in love with her images and we were all smiling and laughing at the end.
When Joe reached out to us, he was changing industries, he needed to upgrade his portrait and to make sure it communicated he and his new brand effectively. This transition took him from the not for profit work into the investments world. He wanted something that had a more classic look that not only brought in some nostalgia as well as communicated longevity.

Jaron Scott is a multi talented and passionate man. He had a conversation with us about his needs when a portrait was concerned. From the get go, we knew we needed to create an image that was as non traditional as he was. We felt the simple table set up added into the composition and he liked having a little prop on set with him too.
Shakira.
She wanted to update her portrait but wanted something that really reflected her. Her smile and laugh are extremely memorable, so I knew we needed to incorporate this part of her personality. She also works near a library at her university job, obviously I asked if we could use books as a background and her being a passionate reader said, “duh Drew”.
With new leadership coming in, Downstream Casino needed new portraits with a newer and more fresh feel for their executives. We decided going in and around the Casino to showcase the vibrancy and life happening all around.
